Youth Shooting Sports

CSC’s Youth Shooting Sports Program is a gun safety education and marksmanship program that encompasses the basic elements of safety, education, enjoyment and competition.

Who Can Participate?

Youth ages 10-17, male and female, can participate. Physical ability and size are no match for mental toughness and discipline in this co-ed skill sport. CSC’s Youth Program is limited to 25 participants per cycle.

Why Shooting Sports?

Participants will gain knowledge of firearm safety techniques. They will develop responsibility, confidence and self-reliance, as well as a skill they can enjoy and hone throughout their life.

How Much Does It Cost?

There is no cost to participate in the CSC Youth Shooting Sports Program. Parent/guardian membership is not required, but encouraged to promote the sport.

Fall 2023 Program

The theme for the Fall 2023 program will be shotguns and Trap Shooting!

The kickoff for the youth program is a firearm safety course and is held at the range. This meeting is an introductory and safety course; parents/guardians must accompany their children. This event is mandatory for all youth members before participating in future events.

This is a free league open to children from ages 10 to 17, and the club will provide 12 or 20 gauge shotguns and ammunition for your child. If your child would like to use their own firearm, it must be 12 or 20 gauge, have at least a 24 inch barrel, and will be inspected by a club/safety officer onsite on the first day of activities (October 1st).

Dates for this year’s activities are as follows:

October 1st – Kickoff orientation/mandatory safety presentation and start shooting
October 15th – Two-session shoot (9:00-11:00 and 11:15-1:15)
October 22nd – Two-session shoot (9:00-11:00 and 11:15-1:15)
October 29th – Two-session shoot (9:00-11:00 and 11:15-1:15)
November 5th – Two-session shoot (9:00-11:00 and 11:15-1:15)
November 19th – Trap tournament with prizes for top shooters and pizza party for the kids and parents!

PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE NO YOUTH TRAP LEAGUE ON OCTOBER 8TH OR NOVEMBER 12TH.

All participants will be required to have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver, even if you have signed one recently for a previous youth program. Parents are required to stay on club property for the duration of the sessions while their child is present.
